Default I am in so much pain right now

Whoever said exercise was good for you is a big fat liar.

    ...probably not big and fat.

I'm not convinced pain is even necessary for gain. I think I'm doing it wrong

What kind of exercise are you doing? I walk ~10 miles a day and although I am a little weary afterwards I am certainly not in pain. You could also try weight bearing exercise such as swimming if you're finding it tough to get started.

    An hour of badminton lol

The problem was the guy I was playing with neglected to tell me he also plays for a league. So he had me running all around the court

Ah.... I played 2v1 badminton when I went to Centre Parcs with my family last year... with me being the 1. I was absolutely exhausted after an hour, could barely stand up for the next half hour or so... however my family plied me with diet coke to aid my recovery

Definitely need to start off with something a bit less strenuous lol :P

I blame my fiancée, she told me she didn't want a fat husband so ordered me down the gym with our highly competitive and rather athletic neighbours. Their reason for whooping my ***: payback for all the times I've beaten them at computer games. I guess I had it coming.

After a karate training session, i must admit, I feel a little disappointed if I'm not aching the next day! Badminton, maybe not so much!

Soon you'll get used to it and you won't feel the pain as much. It's the same for me at martial arts, when it's some hard fitness or 2v1 sparring and you get battered, it hurts, but it's a good hurting.

This really doesn't feel like the good kind of pain

I know what you mean though. I'm considering getting a massage to ease my aches and going back for another pwning this weekend.

I used to race go carts a few years ago I was very good at it too but must admit the only time I ever ached was when we did the odd 8 hour endurance race. Or if you had been involved in a crash. However I do realise that most karting clubs don't let people loose on there racers and just have a standard kart with more durable track rods and stiffer wheel and steering bearings and other things like that which do make the whole thing a much more physical task. Also if your tall then that really does not help.

I crashed various times, also not to go too far off topic but did all the karts that you rode in have seatbelts? these ones didn't and I have been curious since as to why not.

Reminds me of this gem that appeared on my Facebook newsfeed after a couple of the lads from sixth form went karting a few years back
