Default How do you spell the sound an elephant makes?

    This should be fun,

Let's see how you think the noise an Elephant makes would be spelt.

    Examples:
    • Cat: Meow
    • Dog: Woof Woof
    • Cow: Moooooo
    • Sheep: BAAAAHH

    Elephant: ?????

This one's difficult, since the greater part of the sound the elephant makes is outside the range of human hearing (lower in pitch). I would describe what we do hear as "eRowrrh!", the sound of a trumpet that's very flat.

According to this site - http://www.eleceng.adelaide.edu.au/P...tt/animal.html

    its

    Elephant trumpeting ---- baraag

Checkout the video i took when we went on safari in africa a few years ago (about half way through you can hear an elephant in the background)

I'm sure it goes something like....

To Bombay a travelling circus came
    They brought an intelligent elephant
    and Nellie was her name

One dark night she slipped her iron chain,
and off she ran to Hindustan
    and was never seen again

    oooooooooooooooooo...

    [Chorus:]
Nellie the elephant packed her trunk
and said goodbye to the circus
off she rode with a trumpety trump
    trump trump trump

Nellie the elephant packed her trunk
and trundled off to the jungle
off she rode with a trumpety trump
    trump trump trump

Night by night she danced to the circus band
When Nellie was leading the big parade
she looked so proud and grand

No more tricks for Nellie to perform
They taught her how to take a bow
and she took the crowd by storm

    oooooooooooooooooo...

    [Chorus x2]

The head of the heard was calling far far away
they met one night in silver light
    on the road to Mandalay

    oooooooooooooooooo...

    [Chorus x2]

    Maybe not.....
