Default Steam account on multiple computers?

Can I re-download/play any game I've bought through steam on any PC?

I have several PC's and laptops dotted around, and will only be playing on one at any one time (steam account should take care of that).

    Is that how it works?

You can pretty much copy over all the game files as well rather than re-downloading them - should be fine.

    Cool.

I'm just getting back into PC gaming, looks like steam is a pretty good system then.

Off to buy Valve Complete Pack for a start:

Includes: Counter-Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat, Deathmatch Classic, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Ricochet, Half-Life, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, Half-Life Deathmatch: Source, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Portal, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead

    ...all for 52.99

yep. load up Steam on the second PC, allow each game to download 1%, exit Steam then copy over your PF\Steam\Steamapps folder to the second PC, overwriting any existing files. this will be several GB!

go back into Steam and everything should be on 100% if not to a check on the data.

You dont even need to download each game to 1%, just copy the steamapps folder and it will know the games are downloaded next time you start steam. You can even con the system to allow you to run steam on 2 PCs at once. Just connect on one PC while the network cable is unplugged so steam runs in offline mode, then you can start the game normally on your second PC. This way you can set up a LAN game of Grid on 2 or more PCs using the same steam account.

There is also a backup game option in steam. Back it up then restore it on the next PC etc.
