Default How can a 14 year old boy make money?

Hi guys, i just want to save up 700 ...i already have 75

So, do you have any ideas in how to make money? stuff like cutting peoples grass maybe? but thats really embarassing walking around with a heavy petrol lawnmower around the street, and, i got teased by random teenagers passing by.

So, i was thinking, is there any other way to make money? quick?

    Thanks,
    Harjun

p.s. The money is towards a new Gaming RIg

Paper round or something like delivering leaflets for estate agents. I used to deliver leaflets for an estate agents and got 10 for 2 hours work, good excercise too. It will take you a long time to save up that much but you could do one paper round and deliver 2 lots of leaflets for estate agents!

I wouldn't recommend you spend 700 on a PC at your age anyway because they move on so fast. I think 350-400 would be a more sensible amount to spend. You could also look into buying a second hand PC but obviously there's a bit of risk involved.

well...its a gaming pc, Q6600, EVGA 8800GTS, Corsair 550W PSU, P5K Mobo....lol, that should last without an upgrade for 3 years

Anyway, when do you suggest i get this paper round, i wake up 6:00, and get ready for school, leave house at 6:45, arrive on coach at 7:00, reach school at 8:30, come back from school, arrive home 5:30pm....i have weekends free, and 2 weeks for half term in 2 weeks time, so when should i do it, like, some evening round?

Surely by the time you have saved up that much, new parts will be out

Try your local paper, you may be able to deliver those during an evening.

It's impossible to say whether or not such a rig could go without an upgrade for 3 years, things probably will have changed quite a lot by then.

ever heard of the term 'rent boy'

NO - dont even contemplate it!!!

i would say carry on with lawn mowing - as long as money is right, its an easy way to make cash (i know i have done for the last few years!) so what if you get laughed at...welcome to the real world. grow up fast, take the verbal beatings or sit and cry in the corner? there is only one way to make money, and it aint by sitting in a corner doing nowt

I would try an get a paper round, like people have said, the local papers let you deliver in the afternoons/evenings usually.

I did a evening paper round when I was that age - took me 2 years of solid saving to buy an Amiga 1200

    When I turned 16 I got a saturday job in a shop.

    Concentrate on your studies

Or, get a console. Even a PS3 isnt as much as 700.

    Arjun, where do you live?

I used to do paper-rounds in London for a paper called " Stratford & Newham Express " looooong ago. I used to get 1p per paper delivered. Distribution of this was arranged by a company called "The Distribution Business". They also tell you to deliver Leaflets. For leaflets, I used to get 5p-10p per leaflet. I used to get several boxes delivered to my house every week ( The paper is a weekly FREE community paper ). And then, I used to deliver these to 300 houses.

The money wasn't much. I think I got about 50 per week. But, yes, by all means , you should do it. And don't worry, no one will swear at you or anything or you won't get chased by dogs!!!

Why not go around local residents and shops and ask them if they need any IT help? That's what I did.
