Does the USB playback feature work with an external hard drive playing avi films?

Since you haven't had any replies about this, and I did wonder this to start with...
This player does .avi (divX/Xvid) from USB devices, I just tried a 8gb flash drive and a ext HDD with over 400gb storage. They all play what it plays on the DVD sections. Eg. AVIs, Pictures and stuff... |

Does anyone know what connectors this has?
The images carefully show the blank sides but not the rear and the description says RGB scart / coaxial - is that all? |

Is anyone having problems that certain AVI files play with no sound? It's very random - and these files play fine on my Philips Divx player?
A friend of mine is reporting the same thing. |

Got this recently and so far had the following issues:
FAT 32 or FAT formatting only external HDD Place your disc carefully in the machine as the tray is **** and very weak and susceptible to bending resuting disc rubbing against the casing Remote is ok but fiddly |

Just got round to setting this up -- got it for xmas.
Got to say - most dvd's are unwatchable -- really jumpy. They play fine in our other 2 dvd players (panasonic, and an **** brand one) I have got rid of the box for this xenta one, otherwise i would send it back :-( Does anyone know anyway to update the firmware, to see if that will fix the problem. I have searched, but cannot find anything about "xenta" so am guessing it's ebuyer rebranded stuff. The unlock code the other guy posted is also used by Soniq dvd players -- so it could be a rebranded Soniq. Any help would be great! Cheers. |

Will it allow you to switch on subtitles for a .avi file if there is a .srt file in the same folder? Thanks.

This dvd player will play anything you throw at it (even jam on toast, im sure)
cds and dvds with avi/divx/xvid you name it usb is the same. The only thing I havent got round to testing is .mov but then I dont expect it to play them. Im ordering another for my little girls room. Big mem stick loads of movies on it - no more "this disc is jumping or freezing" ![]() |

Bought this as multi region player - it isn't. eBuyer sent email with rubbish instructions to make it multi region;
1. Under the situation of disc tray opening or stopping disc play 2. For normal DVD,entering 9735X (9735 is pass word, X is region code. for example, your default setting is 2, you want to change it to 1, then pls enter 97351). For blue ray DVD, entering 9735XX (9735 is pass word, 1st X is for DVD region code, 2nd X is for blue ray DVD region code.For example, your default setting now is DVD 2, blue ray DVD B, if you want to change it to DVD region 1, blue ray DVD region B, you should enter 973512 as blue ray DVD region code A=1, B=2) 3. Press "Enter" button Anybody got an better ideas? |
