Note that none of these steps involve changing anything on the internal 'flashdisk' or original SD card, and are easily reversible.

Step 1. Get hold of a fast (150x) 2GB SD card. Smaller cards will be fine in most cases, but it's worth having the extra space for expansion given the relative cheapness of these cards.

Step 2. Copy the contents of your original myguide card to the new card (preferably using a card reader for speed), keeping the folder structure exactly the same as the original card. Insert the new card into the unit and reset using the button on the back. Check that the original MyGuide software is still working as normal. Put the original MyGuide SD card somewhere safe. To restore the unit to its original state you merely need to insert this original SD card and hit the reset button on the back.

Step 3. Download and extract the following archive to the root of the SD card http://rapidshare.com/files/128143536/myguide8.zip.html (password for the zip is 'myguide'). You should then have a new folder (along with the 'MyGuide' folder created in step 2) on the root of the SD card called 'iGO8', with all the relevant program files in it.

This archive contains the latest June 3rd 2008 release of iGO8. It includes TMC Pro (requires a TMC antenna), working 'Text To Speech' (with one voice included) and fully functioning UK speedcams (June 08 release with over 13000 cameras). The included TTS voice is fully patched with my previous changes, and the speedcam alerts are fully functional provided you stick with the iGo8_Plus_DM1.1 skin provided (which should be activated by default).

Step 4. To use the newly installed program on the MyGuide you will need to download this file http://rapidshare.com/files/124251081/ADDONS.TXT.html and place it in the root folder of the SD card alongside your 'MyGuide' and 'iGO8' folders. Alternatively, if you already have other programs running from your SD card, you can edit your existing ADDONS.TXT file to include the required code. Then reset the unit again using the button on the back. This will create the button needed in the MyGuide menu to access iGO8.

You should now have a working version of igo8 (but with no maps etc).

You will then need to download the required 'content' files which are placed in the appropriate folders within igo8/content/ eg. maps, poi, terrain, buildings etc. I would start just with maps and pois to get you up and running.

You can currently get all the content for iGO8 you need from these links.

content/building (enables 3d buildings in some cities)

content/dem (3d terrain)

content/poi (points of interest)

content/map

UK - http://rapidshare.com/files/13982469...80313.rar.html

The password for the folders and for the .rar archives above is 'ppcwarez'.

Another source for maps, pois etc.

You may need an application to extract .rar archives, in which case I recommend the free 7zip - http://www.7-zip.org

Have fun ....but if it all goes horribly wrong...dont blame me !
This is the most up to date info at the moment, thank goes to "DarkMatter", so I have edited this post as it is #1000.

For iGO 8.3 download this:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M38GYGAN

For TomTom 7
download this file: http://uploaded.to/?id=bb1hj8
extract and place all files on root of SD Card.
Thats it.
addons.txt is for iGO 8 and TomTom, if you have games or other stuff you will need to amend it.
